Our lodge was chartered on February 16th, 1976 with 31 original members. The lodge has now grown to serve over 100 active and retired members of the Shawnee, KS Police Department.

Donald B. Gamblin Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Congratulations to Amy Hein, the 2015 scholarship recipient!

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Donald B. Gamblin Scholarship. The FOP and FOPA award one student each year $500.00 towards their college education in honor of Officer Gamblin. Applications are being accepted through April 10th. Download the application here.

The Donald B. Gamblin Jr. Memorial Scholarship is funded by the FOPA, FOP and citizen donations. The Scholarship fund was created by the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. The Scholarship is awarded to at least 1 recipient per year enrolled in an accredited college.

On July 13, 1991 Shawnee, KS Officer Donald B. Gamblin was killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop on I-435. Officer Gamblin left behind his wife, Ana, his daughter - Pamela Farrar and three sons - Donald B. Gamblin III, Steven Combs & Matt Gamblin.

Please submit completed applications in a sealed and unmarked envelope by April 10, 2018 to the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary mailbox in the Records Department at the Shawnee Police Department or directly to Jennifer Herrmann at 9712 Melrose Dr., Overland Park, KS 66214. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified and officially recognized at the Awards Ceremony held at the Civic Center on Friday, April 27, 2018.
